Job summary

The Florida Department of Health in St. Johns County is seeking a Community Health Nurse to provide direct health care services, including STI care, family planning, HIV testing and prevention, and immunizations, as well as TB care, under established clinical protocols.

Licensed Registered Nurse in Florida with a valid driver’s license is required. The role includes nursing assessments, phlebotomy, documentation, education, and potential after-hours or on-call duties within in-office and field

Qualifications

• Licensure as Registered Nurse in Florida and a valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Ability to perform in-office and field work as needed.
• Emergency duties including after-hours on-call may be required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and review medical records, reports and lab results.
• Obtain health histories and perform phlebotomy as ordered or under protocol.
• Perform nursing assessments and evaluations.
• Administer medications and injections, including immunizations, under supervision.
• Educate clients on health and disease processes and document clearly.
• Participate in TB and HIV care and prevention activities.
