Job summary

The City of Laredo seeks a Disease Intervention Manager for Immunization, TB Elimination, Hansen’s Disease, and vaccine-preventable disease programs. You will plan, direct, and evaluate operations, supervise nursing, allied health, and support staff, and collaborate with local, regional, state, and federal partners.

This hands-on nursing leadership role combines direct patient care with program management, quality improvement, and grant compliance to meet public health standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or related field.
• At least three years of public health administration experience.
• Valid Texas driver license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, administer, and evaluate Immunization and TB programs.
• Supervise nursing, allied health, and support staff; oversee clinic operations.
• Coordinate with local, regional, state, and federal agencies.
• Ensure compliance with laws, grant requirements, and public health standards.
• Assist in grant applications, budgets, and program evaluations.
• Participate in quality assurance, risk management, and accreditation activities.
• Evening, weekend, holiday, emergency response, and on-call assignments; travel within region.
