Public Health- Dayton & Montgomery County (PHDMC) in Dayton, OH seeks a Director of Administration to oversee the agency’s financial and administrative operations and partner with the Executive Team on strategy. This role drives control systems to preserve assets, reduce costs, and maximize revenue.

The position requires a Master’s degree and 10+ years in business/finance, with senior leadership and budgeting experience. Public health expertise and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 10+ years in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Seven years of Senior Management or leadership experience.
• Three years of Budget Development and Management.
• Three years of Personnel Management experience.
• Experience creating and driving analytic framework for fiscal operations and programs.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals including Analytical/Assessment, Policy Development/Program Planning, Communication, Cultural Competency, Community Dimensions of Practice, Public Health Sciences, Financial Planning and Management, and Leadership and Systems Thinking.
• Requires to support Public Health evidence-based practices and to participate in public health emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Manages a team of five direct reports responsible for Accounting, Budgeting, Human Resources, and Administrative Services.
• Participates in Executive Team decisions and strategic planning.
• Formulates and recommends objectives for the Office’s development and management.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Plans and administers agency fiscal programs and prepares annual reports.
• Represents the agency with fiscal officers and oversees budget processes.
