Job Overview:
A Riverside, CA-based law firm with a strong regional presence is seeking a mid-level associate attorney through a recruiting partner. The role focuses on providing legal support to public agencies in the area of municipal finance. The position involves active participation in various forms of public financing, including general obligation and revenue bond issuances, as well as related tax and regulatory matters. This role is fully remote, though candidates must be committed to obtaining California licensure if not already admitted.

Duties:

Provide legal assistance in municipal finance transactions

Serve in roles such as bond, underwriter, and disclosure counsel for public financing matters

Support the issuance and refinancing of general obligation and revenue bonds

Address regulatory and tax-related aspects tied to public finance

Participate in complex multi-party negotiations and drafting

Advise on compliance with Proposition 218 and similar public finance regulations

Review, draft, and negotiate legal documents related to bond issuance and disclosure

Requirements:

3 to 5 years of legal experience with a focus on municipal finance or public agency representation

Prior involvement in multi-faceted public financing transactions

Familiarity with tax rules affecting public finance, including arbitrage and private use rules

Experience with or willingness to learn regulatory frameworks such as Proposition 218

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction

Willingness to obtain California Bar admission if not already licensed in the state
