Job summary

The City of Fairmont is seeking an Assistant Finance Director to support financial operations including budget and audit materials, regulatory reports, accurate accounting records, and supervision of utility billing staff.

This role works closely with the Finance Director and the Public Utilities Commission; ideal candidates are detail-driven, analytical, and collaborative, with a passion for meaningful work and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in the accounting field (AR, AP, payroll).
• At least 1 year’s supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare budget and audit materials.
• Produce financial and regulatory reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting records.
• Supervise utility billing staff.
