Job summary

Clear Creek County in Colorado seeks a detail-oriented bookkeeper to perform a variety of routine, non-routine, and sensitive bookkeeping and legal duties. The employee must assist the public in person and by phone and read Colorado State Statute.

This client-facing role has no remote flexibility. The position requires five years of verifiable bookkeeping experience, strong MS Office and property tax software skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years verifiable bookkeeping experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office and property tax accounting software.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to work with the public.
• Ability to handle large amounts of cash and make change accurately.
• Ability to learn and master several software applications used in the office.

Responsibilities

• Process Tax Lien Redemptions and related tax duties.
• Prepare Treasurer's Deeds per Colorado Statute, including research and data entry.
• Provide backup to the Treasurer (counter, mail, phones, posting tax payments).
• Communicate with realtors, mortgage companies, and homeowners for tax problem resolution.
• Maintain filing and records, including confidential records.
• Assist with special projects of technical or confidential nature.
