Jacobs seeks a Public Engagement & Outreach Lead to plan and deliver inclusive engagement for electric transmission projects, building relationships with landowners, officials, Tribal entities, and communities throughout planning, permitting, and construction.

The role demands sound judgment, strong organizational and communication skills, and collaboration across engineering, environmental, regulatory, and stakeholder-engagement teams. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public policy, or related field.
• Eight+ years in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, or community relations.
• Experience with electric transmission, utilities, or major infrastructure.
• Proven success leading engagement strategies for complex projects.
• Strong facilitation, negotiation, and executive communication skills.
• Experience directing consultants or coaching engagement professionals.
• Ability to travel up to 25% for events and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic engagement direction for high-profile transmission projects.
• Lead senior stakeholder relationships and manage sensitive community issues.
• Develop comprehensive engagement plans and long-term stakeholder management.
• Direct outreach programs across communities, agencies, and teams.
• Lead public meetings and facilitate discussions with diverse interests.
• Advise leadership on sentiment, risk, and permitting strategy.
• Review regulatory filings and prepare executive-level briefings.
• Set engagement standards, metrics, and quality controls.
