Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Business & Facilities Attorney for a hybrid remote role in West Hollywood, CA, focusing on public education entities. The attorney will counsel on real estate, public contracting, and facilities matters for districts and colleges.

Active California Bar license and at least 3 years of transactional experience are required, with a preference for education or public-entity client background. Base salary ranges from $150k to $225k, plus bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license.
• Minimum 3 years of transactional experience in real estate, public contracting, construction law, or public agency representation.
• Education or public entity client experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsel school districts, community colleges, and public education entities on business and facilities operations.
• Handle transactions involving real estate acquisition, disposition, and leasing.
• Manage public works contracting and construction procurement matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, technology, consultant, construction, and interagency agreements.
• Advise on compliance with the California Education Code, Public Contract Code, Government Code, Labor Code, and related federal and state regulations.
• Guide clients through federal and state funding programs including ESSER and eRate, ensuring procurement compliance.
• Assist with disputes related to construction, public contracting, and facilities management.
• Represent clients in administrative proceedings and agency negotiations.
• Collaborate with school administrators, general counsel, business officers, and boards on infrastructure planning and long-term capital projects.
