Job summary

Australia-Employment in Plano, TX seeks an experienced Corporate Controller to lead accounting and financial reporting for a publicly traded technology company. This hands-on leader will report to the CFO, oversee two accounting professionals, and drive close processes, policy development, and external audits.

The role requires strong US GAAP knowledge, SEC reporting experience, and SOX controls within a lean environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA certification required.
• Public company accounting experience required.
• SEC reporting experience required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Leadership experience within an accounting function.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
• Own financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Lead SEC reporting, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Research and resolve complex technical accounting matters.
• Lead SOX 404(a) compliance and internal controls over financial reporting.
• Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures and documentation.
• Coordinate external audits and serve as a primary contact for external auditors.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, revenue recognition, AP, AR, payroll and related accounting functions.
• Manage and develop accounting staff.
• Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external tax advisors.
• Manage treasury, cash forecasting, banking relationships and liquidity planning.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting and long-range financial planning.
• Prepare financial analysis and actual-to-budget reporting.
• Partner with leadership on pricing, contracts, cost management and other business decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and system efficiencies.
• Remain hands-on and assist with day-to-day accounting activities as needed.
