We are hiring a Public Cloud Project Manager. This role involves customer relationship management and advocacy for Canonical's technical assets. It offers an opportunity for a technologist passionate about Linux and Project Management to build a career with Canonical. Public Cloud Project Managers lead and provide insights for Canonical's key Tier 1 Enterprise Public Cloud accounts. The role involves collaboration with teams from Software Engineering to Senior Executives.

As a Public Cloud Project Manager, you will manage multiple high-profile projects simultaneously, shaping Statements of Work (SoW) or similar agreements, and ensuring project goals are met throughout their lifecycle.

Periodic international travel is required, with travel amount and duration varying based on company and program needs.

Location: This role is remote within the Americas region.

The role entails:

  • Ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, budget, and resources
  • Identifying and mitigating key technical and project risks
  • Maintaining strong customer focus and stakeholder engagement
  • Conducting regular status meetings and business reviews with customers
  • Managing delivery schedules of third-party deliverables
  • Managing cross-organization engineering requests outside existing contracts
  • Advocating Canonical technologies to customers

What we are looking for in you:

  • Proven experience in IT Cloud as a project manager, program manager, or Scrum Master
  • Deep understanding of Linux, open source, and Public Cloud
  • Software engineering experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Experience leading remote, cross-cultural project teams
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM
  • Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP)
  • Agile Certification (e.g., Scrum Master)
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
