Job summary

S:US is seeking an Entitlements Specialist in New York to assist Services for the Underserved with entitlements, ensuring benefits remain eligible. You will guide consumers through the eligibility process and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities include reviewing entitlements, completing assessments, and assisting with SSI/SSDI, Medicaid, and food assistance applications while traveling to sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate/BA degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in HRA Public Assistance, Food Stamp, Medicaid, managed care plans, SSI, SSDI.
  • Experience in Homeless Shelter system/Human Service Field.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, proficient computer skills, organization and multitasking.

Responsibilities

  • Review entitlements for perspective individuals.
  • Complete entitlements assessment to determine eligibility.
  • Assist individuals with replacement social security cards and birth certificates.
  • Assist with SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, SSI/SSDI applications and related regulations.
  • Maintain entitlement records and AWARDS module.
  • Represent individuals in administrative hearings and pursue funding.
  • Attend trainings to stay current on entitlements procedures.
