Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners is hiring on-site at OU Health in Oklahoma City, OK to support Medicaid eligibility determinations and financial assistance processes for uninsured patients.

The role involves interviewing patients, assisting with applications, following up on submissions, and coordinating eligibility with state and federal programs. You will document actions in patient accounting systems and maintain knowledge of evolving requirements.

Qualifications

  • Experience interacting with patients about hospital financial issues.
  • Understanding of revenue cycle including admissions, billing, payments and denials.
  • Knowledge of patient insurance processes for authorizations and benefits verification.

  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal program requirements and share with colleagues.
  • Develop relationships with Medicaid caseworkers and collaborate with other revenue cycle teams.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Job description

Ensemble is a leading provider of technology-enabled revenue cycle management solutions for health systems. This role is located on‑site at OU Health in Oklahoma City, OK.

Responsibilities
  • Interview uninsured/under‑insured patients to determine eligibility for state Medicaid benefit or financial assistance program.
  • Assist with application processes to facilitate accurate and appropriate submissions.
  • Follow up on submitted applications to ensure timely billing or adjustment processing.
  • Review all referred uninsured/under‑insured patients for program eligibility opportunities and coordinate the application process.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to obtain required documents.
  • Update insurance information and ensure timely billing or adjustment posting after determination.
  • Document all actions and communication steps in the assigned patient accounting systems.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all state and federal program requirements and share information with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Develop and maintain proactive working relationships with county/state/federal Medicaid caseworker partners and collaborate with other revenue cycle departments and associates.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1‑2 years of experience in the healthcare industry interacting with patients regarding hospital financial issues.
  • Understanding of revenue cycle, including admission, billing, payments, and denials.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the patient insurance process for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification.
  • Knowledge of health insurance requirements and medical terminology or CPT or procedure codes.
  • Patient access experience with managed care/insurance and call center experience highly preferred.
  • Inquisitive and demonstrating openness to innovation, including AI to improve processes and patient experience.
Education & Certification
  • Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED. Combination of post‑secondary education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Certification: CRCR within 9 months of hire.

Pay
  • Hourly rate: $18.65 – $20.50, based on experience.
