Job summary

Seneca Resorts & Casinos is looking for a Public Area Attendant to maintain cleanliness across casino and hotel facilities. You will clean floors, bathrooms, gaming devices, and assist with laundry and stocking in a fast-paced casino environment.

Ideal candidates have customer service experience and familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment. This full-time role offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus and requires adherence to security policies and attendance guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Familiar with proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Housekeeping experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of the in-house facilities.
• Empty and clean ashtrays in the casino and hotel lobby.
• Clean, wash and disinfect bathrooms; inspect cleanliness.
• Wipe and clean gaming devices regularly.
• Perform laundry/linen receipt and distribution duties.
• Discard soiled cups and debris throughout the casino.
• Attend to cleaning and stocking needs of assigned areas.
• Work with various cleaning agents.
• Follow Seneca Gaming Corporation security and information policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service in a professional manner.
• Meet attendance and policy guidelines.
• Complete required SGC training within nine months.
• Attend all necessary meetings.

Job description

The Public Area Attendant will be responsible for the cleanliness of all public areas and both front and back of house areas according to casino standards. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. 1. Maintain the cleanliness of the in-house facilities.
2. 2. Empty and provide clean ashtrays in the casino and hotel lobby on a regular basis.
3. 3. Clean, wash and disinfect all floors, sinks and commodes of bathrooms and conduct routine inspection of bathrooms to ensure consistent cleanliness.
4. 4. Wipe and clean all gaming devices on a regular basis.
5. 5. Perform laundry/linen receipt and distribution duties.
6. 6. Discard soiled cups, etc., throughout casino on a regular basis.
7. 7. Responsible for attending to the cleaning and stocking needs of assigned areas of the Casino.
8. 8. Must work with various cleaning agents.
9. 9. Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy. Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
10. 10. Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times. Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
11. 11. Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
12. 12. Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
13. 13. Attend all necessary meetings.
14. 14. Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed. Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience

1. 1. Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
2. 2. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
3. 3. Previous customer service experience preferred.
4. 4. Must be familiar with proper use of all cleaning equipment and chemicals.
5. 5. Previous housekeeping experience a plus.

Language Skills and Reasoning Ability

1. 1. Must possess excellent communication skills.
2. 2. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees and customers.
3. 3. Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
4. 4. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

2. 2. The employee is also required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
3. 3. Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees and members of the business community in all situations.

Salary Starting Rate

$16.00 Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education. Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
