Job summary

Oceanpoint Ranch, located along Moonstone Beach in Cambria, seeks a Public Area Attendant to maintain lobby, corridors, restrooms, and common spaces. You will greet guests warmly, answer questions, and guide them to meeting rooms and amenities while upholding a spotless, inviting environment.

Ideal candidates have housekeeping or hotel-related experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to interact professionally with guests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hotel public areas in a clean, orderly, and welcoming condition.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, window frames, and other surfaces.
• Vacuum carpets, upholstery, and drapery.
• Clean and shine glass, metal, and other high-touch surfaces.
• Clean and restock public restrooms.
• Clean and maintain public elevators, including interior and exterior surfaces.
• Remove trash and maintain appropriate housekeeping standards throughout assigned areas.
• Greet guests warmly with a smile and welcoming attitude.
• Answer guest questions and provide directions to meeting rooms, restaurants, and other hotel amenities.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY

Located along the scenic shores of Moonstone Beach in Cambria, Oceanpoint Ranch is a boutique coastal retreat that blends rustic ranch charm with the relaxed spirit of California’s Central Coast. Set across nine seaside acres, the property features ranch-inspired accommodations, a heated pool, fire pits, lawn games, a private trail to the beach, and The Cow Tipper, a cozy on-site breakfast spot. With its beautiful coastal setting, family-friendly atmosphere, and flexible outdoor event spaces, Oceanpoint Ranch offers a unique destination for guests looking to unwind, explore, and enjoy the natural beauty of Cambria.

THE ROLE

As a Public Area Attendant, you'll help create the welcoming first impression guests experience throughout the hotel. You'll keep lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and other public spaces clean, polished, and inviting while providing friendly assistance to guests along the way. You will:

• Maintain hotel public areas in a clean, orderly, and welcoming condition
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, window frames, and other surfaces
• Vacuum carpets, upholstery, and drapery
• Clean and shine glass, metal, and other high-touch surfaces
• Clean and restock public restrooms
• Clean and maintain public elevators, including interior and exterior surfaces
• Clean assigned offices and other areas as needed
• Remove trash and maintain appropriate housekeeping standards throughout assigned areas
• Keep Housekeeping carts stocked with necessary supplies
• Operate vacuums and other cleaning equipment safely and properly
• Report equipment issues, supply needs, damage, or maintenance concerns to Housekeeping management
• Keep management informed about the condition and progress of assigned areas
• Follow lost-and-found procedures and immediately report items found in public spaces
• Greet guests warmly with a smile and welcoming attitude
• Answer guest questions and provide directions to meeting rooms, restaurants, and other hotel amenities
• Stay aware of event activity and hotel happenings to better assist guests
• Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
• Support other team members and hotel departments as needed

Success means guests walk through the hotel and consistently see spaces that are clean, cared for, and inviting. You notice the details, take pride in your work, and keep your assigned areas looking their best throughout the day. Just as importantly, you're approachable and comfortable interacting with guests, creating a warm and helpful experience whenever they need assistance.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Previous housekeeping, hotel, or related service experience preferred
• Basic cleaning skills and the ability to safely operate cleaning equipment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment
• Comfortable interacting with guests and answering questions in a friendly, professional manner
• Ability to read event boards and provide directions throughout the hotel
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
• Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently
• Ability to prioritize tasks and use good judgment throughout the shift
• Comfortable working with approved cleaning agents
• Ability to frequently stand and walk throughout the shift
• Ability to climb stairs and use step ladders as needed
• Ability to push carts and vacuums and lift/carry supplies weighing approximately 20-30 lbs.
• Ability to frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, twist, lift, and carry
