Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking an attorney for a respected New Jersey firm handling eminent domain and public agency matters, primarily on-site in Roseland. You will advise municipalities, draft acquisition documents, prepare condemnation petitions, and manage case progression from strategy through litigation.

Candidates must be admitted to the New Jersey Bar with 3+ years' experience in eminent domain/condemnation; strong writing and negotiation skills; opportunity for limited hybrid flexibility.

Qualifications

• Admission to the New Jersey Bar in good standing.
• 3+ years of eminent domain/condemnation and public agency representation in NJ.
• Experience with condemnation hearings and/or trials is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Advise municipalities and public agencies on the exercise of eminent domain in New Jersey.
• Draft and review acquisition documents, including purchase and sale agreements and related conveyance materials.
• Prepare condemnation complaints and supporting documents through filing and progression of the case.
• Analyze title issues, property valuation materials, and tenant relocation considerations.
• Draft and respond to legal briefs and motions in eminent domain litigation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and maintain clear, professional client communication.
• Support hearings and case proceedings; gain additional litigation exposure as needed.
