Army National Guard Units is seeking a Public Affairs Specialist (Title 32) to develop news releases and feature articles, coordinate with media, and respond to information requests. The role involves evaluating media content, preparing materials, and building relationships with government personnel and partner groups.

A master’s or graduate-level education is required. The position is government service, Title 32, indefinite, with a posted salary range and Secret clearance requirement.

Formación

• Master's degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Documentation required.

Responsabilidades

• Develops news releases and feature articles describing Guard sponsored activities or events. Distributes these to local and national print and broadcast media representatives.
• Responds orally and in writing to requests for information from Guard members, member associations, external audiences or special interest groups.
• Coordinates data release with a senior Public Affairs Specialist and evaluates local media programming to identify potential public relation issues with message content or format.
• Gathers data on public reaction to communication campaigns for analyses and evaluation and submits recommendations to the PAO for improving campaign appeal.
• Prepares and disseminates news releases and feature articles to the media for print; selects and incorporates photographs and video into releases to visually enhance the message.
• Develops semi-technical written materials to educate audiences about NG programs, policies and practices and develops positive working relationships with state and local personnel.
• Other duties as assigned.
