The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) seeks an Information Officer II for the Human-Wildlife Conflict program in downtown Sacramento. You will lead statewide communications, act as a key media contact, and shape public information strategies addressing incidents with public safety and wildlife interactions.

The role includes developing campaigns to promote safe coexistence, coordinating experts for interviews, and supporting leadership with strategic communications guidance.

Responsabilités

• Lead statewide communications and public information efforts for the Human-Wildlife Conflict program.
• Serve as Department spokesperson and primary media contact on assigned HWC issues.
• Develop and implement proactive and responsive communications plans for complex wildlife issues.
• Write talking points, news releases, media advisories, and briefing materials for interviews.
• Coordinate subject-matter experts for interviews and provide communications counsel to leadership.
