Job summary

The Maryland Judiciary seeks a Public Information Officer to serve as spokesperson and lead internal communications and public affairs. You will supervise a team, shape messaging for internal and external stakeholders, and coordinate media relations, crisis communication, and strategic communications across divisions.

Based in Annapolis with hybrid work, you will advise senior leadership, manage editorial content, and ensure brand consistency while overseeing budgets and staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Eight (8) years of professional work experience in public affairs, media relations, or communications strategy, or a combination thereof.
• Four (4) years of experience supervising professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic communications counsel to senior leadership, judges, and staff; develop comprehensive, integrated strategies.
• Oversee media relations and proactive communications to educate internal and external stakeholders.
• Direct collaboration across departments to ensure message fidelity and adherence to branding standards; manage editorial content and materials.
