Job summary

Walgreens in Jackson, NJ is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacists under direct supervision, assist with prescription processing, customer service, and operate pharmacy systems and cash registers.

You will help maintain inventory, communicate with patients and physicians, and contribute to a courteous, accurate, and efficient pharmacy environment, with emphasis on regulatory compliance and exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior Walgreens experience preferred.
• Strong math, computer skills and inventory control knowledge.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision and perform pharmacy duties per policy.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Assist with and coach technicians in pharmacy system operations and cashiers in cash register use.
• Engage with customers to deliver a distinctive and helpful customer experience.
• Maintain inventory, assist in managing the pharmacy department and keep the area clean and organized.
• Handle calls and assist with third-party claim processing as needed.
