Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant for an outpatient contract position in Kansas. This 13-week assignment (with option to extend) offers competitive pay and a housing plus travel stipend for travelers, with day shifts in an outpatient setting.

The PTA will assist licensed therapists, support patient rehabilitation, and help patients regain functional mobility after illness or injury. New grads welcome; active license and BLS/CPR required.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapy License in the state of employment (or ability to obtain).
• Current BLS/CPR Certification, or ability to obtain.
• Current TB test/results.
• Current physical stating fit for duty (within past year).

Responsibilities

• Provide support care of patients who seek care with the goal to recover and rehabilitate from the effects of serious illness, injury or medical event, regaining their own best possible level of functional ability, well-being and independence.
• Assist in providing appropriate aspects of quality patient care, under the supervision of licensed therapists.
• Document all services provided to ensure accurate and timely billing of therapy services.
• Assures that patient care follows the established Plan of Care, the organization s guidelines, meets professional standards, community needs and is in compliance with Federal and State guidelines.
• Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, identifies and develops a comprehensive plan of care; Develops and implements individualized therapy programs designed to restore, reinforce and enhance performance.
• Identify need for and makes referral to other disciplines to address the comprehensive needs of the patient under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
