Job summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant will assist Physical Therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Under state law, you may assist in developing treatment plans, carry out routine functions, document progress, and modify treatments within the plan established by the PT.

The PTA will work under frequent supervision by a licensed physical therapist in good standing, and must comply with the Arkansas State Board policies.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Arkansas.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience with elderly patients and care planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in providing treatments and procedures.
• Support development and execution of treatment plans as allowed by law.
• Document patient progress and report to supervising PT.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Education
  • Must have satisfied education requirements from an accredited program and be currently licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Arkansas by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy (the Board). CPR certified.
• Experience
  • Sound clinical skills and demonstrated good judgment. Working knowledge of physical, mental and social needs of the frail elderly population. Ability to problem-solve and plan effectively. Effective oral and written communication skills. Basic computer skills.
• Physical

  • Requires physical strength to perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to work required schedule. Hearing within normal range. Frequent sitting, stooping, standing, walking, bending, pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds, and carrying up to 35 pounds, and lifting up to 100 pounds.

JOB SUMMARY

The Physical Therapist Assistant will assist Physical Therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures. May, in accordance with state laws, assist in the development of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, document the progress of treatment, and modify specific treatments in accordance with patient status and within the scope of treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant will have frequent and regular supervision by or in consultation with a physical therapist whose license is in good standing. The PTA will meet and abide by rules and regulations set forth by the Board.
