Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support a Physical Therapist in delivering patient-centered care across pediatric and adult populations.

You will implement therapeutic interventions, monitor progress, and document outcomes to help patients regain function and independence. This role requires 0-1 years of experience, a PTA license in the state of employment, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques, modalities, and interventions used in physical therapy.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation and treatment planning.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to legal and regulatory standards.
• Physical stamina to assist patients with therapeutic activities and exercises.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Physical Therapist in evaluating treatment plans and adjusts for outcomes.
• Implements interventions focusing on posture, balance, locomotion, strength, endurance, flexibility, and daily activities.
• Under supervision, administers treatment methods aligned with current practice.
• Monitors progress and reports responses to the supervising PT.
• Educates patients on exercises and self-management strategies.
• Ensures patient care is tailored to age, development, and cultural background.
• Documents treatment plans, progress, and discharge recommendations per requirements.
• Collaborates with the care team for discharge planning and ongoing therapy.
