Job summary

Kettering Home Care in Ohio is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to provide skilled services in patients' homes under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. You will educate patients and families, ensure safety, and document care per Medicare guidelines.

The role requires licensure in Ohio, at least one year of PTA experience in acute or home health settings, strong communication, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of employment.
• Minimum of one year of PTA experience in an acute setting.
• Home care experience preferred.
• Strong communication with patients and families, physicians and co-workers.
• Knowledge of therapy best practices and ability to make PT judgments.
• Detail-oriented and observant with disciplined work ethic.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance in your name.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled PTA services in patients' homes as per PT plan of care.
• Observes and reports patient reactions, changes and progress.
• Performs PT procedures and prescribed evaluations.
• Educates patients and families on therapy techniques and safety.
• Communicates with physician, therapist and team; participates in case conferences.
• Recommends prosthetic/orthotic devices and adjusts as needed.
• Completes clinical documentation per agency and Medicare guidelines.
• Duties may include on-call and orientation of new staff.
