Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program.
• Current state licensure or certification as a PTA.
• Basic proficiency in computer use for documentation and communication.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with residents and healthcare team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans by guiding residents through therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Contributes to the evaluation process by performing objective tests under the supervision of the PT.
• Assists with ordering and maintaining supplies as needed.
• Alerts Therapist to resident progress and any need to update the treatment plan.
• Communicates a resident's functional status and needs to the resident, caregivers, and appropriate professionals.
• Educate residents and their families on exercises, safety precautions, and home care techniques.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident progress and treatment sessions.
