Job summary

Apple Rehab Coccomo in Meriden, CT seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join the rehabilitation team. The PTA will provide quality resident care to enable maximum functional ability and positive interactions within the facility.

Reports to the Rehabilitation Director and Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include assisting PT, managing caseload, instructing residents and families, and ensuring compliant documentation and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an APTA accredited PTA program and eligible for licensure in the state they are practicing in.

Responsibilities

• Complies with ethical, regulatory, procedural and professional standards as defined by licensure.
• Assists the PT in providing physical therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care.
• Manages caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency.
• Instructs resident, family, and caregivers in PT to be continued upon discharge.
• Adheres to PPS guidelines, ensures all PT documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
• Working with PT, provides oversight and direction of techs and assists in the supervision and education of affiliating students.
• Assists in the assurance that the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly and free from safety hazards.
