Job summary

Optum's Home Care Services of Haywood Regional Hospital is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform prescribed treatments and provide exercise instruction and patient education under the supervising Physical Therapist’s plan of care. You will work with patients to improve well-being and independence in daily activities in home care settings.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or certified to assist in physical therapy in the practicing state.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle or reliable transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care, perform only procedures qualified and trained for, and report changes to the supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait training, ADL, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observes and reports patient responses to treatment to supervising PT and care team; coordinates with healthcare team as appropriate.
• Instructs patients, family, caregiver, and health care team in therapy within the scope of physical therapy assistant.
• Function in diverse home settings regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
