Cart.com is seeking a Security Guard to greet visitors, manage badges, monitor facility safety, and report suspicious activity to local authorities. The role requires basic computer skills, strong communication, and the ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Qualified candidates should have 2 years of loss prevention or security experience, a high school diploma or GED, and reliable transportation. State CCTV familiarity is a plus and the position is on-site at the Jersey location.

The Role

The Security Guard will be responsible for using protocol to greet facility guests, assigning the proper security badge to each visitor, monitoring the interior and exterior of the facility and reporting any suspicious activity to the local police department immediately. The ideal candidate for this position has a background in security and a professional disposition.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor all day-to-day activities and ensure all security processes and procedures are being carried out
• Work assigned post orders daily
• Greet and maintain badge system for all visitors
• Answer the phone during off hours
• Proper inspection of building and grounds to ensure safety
• Perform bag inspections on all employees / visitors exiting the facility

Who You Are

• You possess basic computer skills
• Ability to read and write English
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to evaluate circumstances and make timely decisions based on company Post Orders
• You can work independently and collaboratively
• High school graduate/GED
• Reliable transportation required
• Ability to work nights and weekends appropriate to facility needs

What You’ve Done

• 2 years of Loss Prevention retail experience required

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge in the operation of CCTV systems
• State Security Guard certification where applicable

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• Able to withstand moderate physical activity (standing, walking, bending, stooping over, reaching, etc.).
• Able to lift and carry up to 25-30 lbs. on occasion (document boxes, files, binders, and other items)
• Able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
• Able to work overtime
• Infrequent/Occasional exposure to adverse conditions such as dust, noise, fumes, weather, poor lighting, or heavy machinery/equipment
