Job description

The Physical Therapist (PT) position focuses on assessing and treating neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems through physical or mechanical means to maintain or restore function impaired by injury or disease. The PT will handle pain management and promote mobility and health as prescribed by the referring physician. This role includes developing, implementing, and monitoring a plan of care for each individual served and collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team throughout the treatment process.

Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders prior to evaluation.
  • Evaluate each patient prior to administering treatments, including thorough reading of the patient's chart and history.
  • Establish goals and a plan of care in collaboration with patients and healthcare workers.
  • Administer and direct physical therapy treatments and modalities.
  • Monitor patient tolerance and maintain contact with the referring physician regarding progress.
  • Assemble and organize home programs for patients, providing training and demonstrations as necessary.
  • Direct and oversee PT Assistants and Rehabilitation Assistants during treatments.
  • Maintain records of all patient treatments and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Must possess a Doctorate, Master's, Bachelor's, or Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current New Mexico Physical Therapist licensure required.
  • BLS certification from AHA is mandatory.
  • Experience demonstrating accountability and strong skills in assessment, evaluation, decision-making, and time management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Schedule

This is a full-time position with a shift from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM, five days a week.
