Job summary

SpartanNash operates a retailer and wholesaler network with a strong Ada, Michigan presence. This role supports store operations in the absence of leadership, ensuring efficiency and sound financial decisions through effective supervision of associates.

You will help customers, manage the register, and maintain safety and cleanliness across the store. The ideal candidate has retail experience, basic math skills, and the ability to read and follow procedures.

• Prior retail or related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of product locations and customer service best practices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor adherence to company policies and safety guidelines.
• Run cashier/register and attend to courtesy desk, handling customer concerns.
• Maintain store cleanliness, layout, and stock levels; assist customers with product locations.
• Perform time clock maintenance in absence of store leadership.
• May close store and ensure security procedures are followed.

Apply now!Location:444 Ada Drive - Ada, Michigan 49301Position Summary:This role directs and coordinates activities of store operations in the absence of Store Director, Assistant Store Director or other management to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations to ensure that the work shifts of all department associates contribute the financial best interest of the store. Complete all other duties as assigned in a timely manner.Here’s what you’ll do:Monitor associate’s adherence to company policies.Able to run cashier register and courtesy counter desk and handle customer concerns in efficient manner.Understand and be familiar with store layout, location of safety and emergency equipment.Conduct regular inspections of all areas, providing feedback to department managers.In the absence of the Store Director or specified department manager, will be responsible for time clock maintenance.May close store: lock all doors, including receiving, turn off lights, arm store, etc.Knowledge of product locations in the store, in order to be able to assist customers.Maintain a clean, attractive and well stocked store.Follow all PPE and Safety GuidelinesFollow all Food Safety and Cleaning ExpectationsFollow Guest Experience GuidelinesMay be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needAdditional responsibilities may be assigned as neededHere’s what you’ll need:High school diploma (preferred)One year of retail or related experience preferred.Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documentsBasic mathematical skillsSuggestive Selling/Knowledge of ProductsDetail OrientedPhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
