Job Shift: Day, Peer Services, Part time
Normal Work Hours/Days: Varied schedule, generally Monday‑Friday, 8am – 4pm
Peer Services encourages and supports individuals with successful management of their mental health recovery. Peer Services supports individuals transitioning to more independent living or hospital discharge using four primary service interventions:
The Peer Specialist provides intensive support through a personalized balance of social, recreational, skill‑teaching and linkage development services for individual match relationships.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Alabama driver’s license and a motor vehicle with an acceptable driving record and government‑required insurance coverage. If a personal vehicle is used, insurance must meet or exceed state standards.
Must attain certification upon hire and maintain certification.
Must demonstrate lived experience with mental illness and be a role model to others pursuing recovery.
