Novant Health Urgent Care in Greenwood, SC is seeking a Part-Time or PRN Certified Medical Assistant or LPN to support physicians, collect vitals, and document patient information in the EMR. The role also involves front-desk duties and delivering outstanding customer service.

Qualified candidates will have CMA or RMA credentials, an accredited medical assisting program, and OSHA/HIPAA training. Shifts include weekends and some travel to other centers as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an Accredited Medical Assisting Program.
• Current CMA or RMA certification.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• OSHA/HIPAA compliance training.
• Willing to work 12-hour shifts and weekends.
• Willing to work at other centers as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate mission, vision and values in conduct.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient demographics, medical history and prescription data for the provider.
• Notifies the provider if patient distress is observed.
• Collects laboratory specimens including phlebotomy and runs tests.
• Performs laboratory tests as directed.
• Collects data and performs testing for occupational health clients.
• Prepares and administers medications as delegated by the physician/PA/NP.
• Provides professional, courteous customer service to patients and staff.
• Operates office equipment and uses EMR accurately.
• Supports provider with high-quality patient care and communication.
• Ensures exam rooms and equipment are clean and functional.
• Provides coverage at other clinic locations as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

What Are We Looking For?

NHUC is currently looking for a is currently looking for a medical assistant to join our team who will prepare patients for their physician visit. MA’s prepare patients by taking vitals, documents vital information from patient into EMR system. They also assist with patient services duties at the front desk taking phone calls, updating patient demographics and offering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Collects patient demographics, medical history, prescription and pharmacy information and records it for the provider.
• Recognizes patient distress and notifies the provider accordingly.
• Collect laboratory specimens including phlebotomy
• Performs laboratory tests
• Performs data collection and testing for occupational health clients
• Prepares and administer medications as delegated by a physician, physician assistant and nurse practitioner.
• Exhibits professional behavior and provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers at all times.
• Operates general office equipment such as personal computer, copier, fax machine, etc.
• Ability to effectively utilize EMR software.
• Supports provider by performing excellent patient care through effective communication.
• Ensure all patient rooms and equipment are in working condition.
• Provides coverage at other clinic locations within the region as requested and/or needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
