Job description

PT - Night Auditor

The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions, reviewing and compiling management reports, ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions, and effectively communicating concerns to all levels of management. Additionally, the role performs guest service agent duties as required, including check‑in, check‑out, switchboard operation, and reservations.

Responsibilities
  • Work with and understand financial information and data; perform basic arithmetic.
  • Cross‑train in other accounting or hotel‑related areas.
  • Prioritize job functions to meet deadlines.
  • Perform guest services functions such as checking guests in/out, taking reservations, and answering phone calls.
  • Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports (Daily Operating Report, Discount Programs, Tax Reports, etc.).
  • Prepare and distribute month‑end reports.
  • Audit and reconcile all Front Desk and Food & Beverage cashiers’ work.
  • Audit, reconcile, consolidate, and transmit all credit card transactions on time.
  • Ensure accuracy of all numbers reported, including statistics.
  • Input and update financial information into the corporate communications network.
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual data processing system functions.
  • Keep management informed of any unusual operational or financial events or deviations from policy.
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Respond to governmental inquiries upon receipt.
  • Handle guest requests.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
  • Guest Service Experience preferred.
  • Computer knowledge/skills required.
  • Flexible and willing to work long hours and overnight shifts as required.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with all employees and guests.
  • Strong listening skills and ability to clarify concerns.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Attentive, courteous, and service‑oriented in all guest and employee encounters.
  • Attend all hotel‑required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards and scheduling requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations.
  • Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, and solving them as necessary.
  • Understand and apply complex information and data from various sources to meet objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
