An established industry player is seeking dedicated individuals for a vital role in maintaining public works facilities. Will be reviewed on a continuous basis until vacancies are filled.
Under general supervision, this at-will position performs semi-skilled manual labor in the maintenance and repair of public works facilities, including streets, traffic systems, sidewalks, signs, parks, graffiti removal, storm drains, tree trimming and planting, and nuisance abatement in public rights of way. The incumbent may be rotated through various crews and may work nights, weekends, holidays, and during special events.
Combination of education and experience related to City maintenance, typically including high school graduation or equivalent, and experience in graffiti removal, street maintenance, or landscaping. Valid California Class C driver's license required. Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable.
Knowledge of tools and equipment used in construction and maintenance, ground maintenance methods, plant identification, safety procedures, traffic laws, and signage standards. Ability to communicate effectively in English, resolve plumbing issues, operate various equipment and tools.

Temporary/part-time employment is limited in hours and does not include benefits except those required by law. Employment is at-will, with no guarantee of continued employment. The position is contingent upon funding and city needs. Selected candidates must pass physical, drug, background checks, and verify eligibility to work in the U.S. and will be designated as Disaster Services Workers.
