Summary

Maintenance Technician staff are responsible for the overall maintenance of the store, ensuring a safe and maintained store.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

· Trouble-shooting front entrance gates. Knowledge of basic gate technology required.

· Taking care of basic electrical and plumbing issues.

· Some carpentry and building with metal.

· Painting a variety of surfaces.

· Overall maintenance for multiple sites.

· Will also provide grounds-keeping and house-keeping services.

· Seasonal work such as snow removal.

· Building and grounds cleaning: sweeping, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, cleaning out units.

· Stay current on training, processes, procedures, and policies.

· Keep Regional Manager informed of any issues at assigned site/store including but not limited to maintenance, safety, etc.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year of experience in maintenance in a commercial setting. Dependability is a requirement.

Language Ability

Must be able to read and write in English (or French for Quebec province). Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Computer Skills

Must be able to navigate a computer on a basic level.

Work/Travel Availability

· Must be able to get to and from work reliably.

· Must be willing to work any day of the week (Mondays to Sundays) as well as holidays.

· Will be required to have access to fully licensed vehicle during work hours. Must have a current, valid drivers’ license, current applicable insurance and an acceptable driving record

· Travel between locations/work various locations as the business requires

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to work inside and outside, in temperature extremes.

· Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb stairs as well as a 10-foot ladder and be walking/standing for up to 3 hours/day (approximately 1/3 of normal working shift).

· Must be willing and able to perform light cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, wiping windows, mowing grass, shoveling snow, pulling weeds, etc.

· Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or move up to 50 lbs. and have the strength to routinely handle a bolt cutter, grinder and power washer, etc.
