Job summary

DHL is hiring an Operations Agent in New York to support accurate and timely processing of outbound and inbound shipments. You will ensure compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and company policies while working effectively in a warehouse environment.

The role requires lifting up to 70 lbs with assistance and 35 lbs unassisted, along with strict adherence to procedures. Responsibilities include sorting, packing, loading, and unloading, palletizing freight, and using scanners to log

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass TSA background and drug screening.
• Must pass medical physical.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally with assistance.
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs. frequently unassisted.
• Must walk, climb stairs, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch repeatedly.
• Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets Driving Privileges standards.

Responsibilities

• Under tight deadlines, sorts, packs, loads, and unloads containers responsibly.
• Palletizes and separates freight/documents for shipment.
• Ensures all delivery materials are prepared for shipment.
• Operates a scanner to record shipping and package information.
• Reports suspected security breaches or unusual events to supervisor.
• Maintains good work habits, punctuality, and adherence to safety procedures.
• May assist supervisor in orienting, training, and assigning work to others.

The selected candidate for the Operations Agent position will ensure the efficient and timely processing and handling of customer outbound and inbound shipments. Success in this position depends on the ability to ensure compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and company policies, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have the ability to consistently lift items weighing between 35 lbs. unassisted and 70 lbs. with assistance while working in a warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Under tight deadlines, performs duties such as sorting, packing, loading, unloading containers
• Palletizing and separation of freight/documents
• Ensures all delivery material is prepared for shipment
• Operates a scanner to record shipping and package information for documents/packages picked up or delivered
• Reports any suspected breach of security or unusual happenings to supervisor immediately
• Maintains good work habits, including reporting to work on time and adhering to standard work and safety procedures
• May assist supervisor in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of other employees

Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Must pass pre-employment and TSA background and drug screening
• Must pass medical physical
• Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift up to seventy (70) lbs. occasionally with assistance
• Must be able to lift thirty- five (35) lbs. frequently unassisted
• Must be able to walk, climb stairs, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch repeatedly
