Qualifications

• Two years of higher education teaching experience preferred.
• Experience with educational technology and generative AI in teaching and learning.
• Experience with project-based learning and digital/multimedia instructional materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on assessments.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive, student-centric learning environment.
• Complete required tasks on deadlines (grades, rubrics, input for appeals).
• Maintain professional training and scholarly activities when applicable.
• Provide feedback to course lead about content.

Position Summary

The Department of Teacher Education, in the Sanford College of Education at the National University invites applications for part-time faculty in Instructional Technology and Innovation. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of or potential for excellence in teaching in their field and a commitment to serving the university’s diverse adult student body. This position primarily works closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.

Essential Job Duties

• Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
• Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
• Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.).
• Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
• Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
• Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in the field of Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Learning Design, Curriculum and Instruction, Education, or a related field from a regionally accredited university.
• 5–7 years of K–12 instructional experience required; 10+ years preferred.
• Two years of higher education teaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with educational technology and generative artificial intelligence in teaching and learning.
• Experience facilitating technology-rich, project-based learning; developing digital and multimedia instructional materials; and providing scaffolded instructional and technical support to learners with varying levels of technological proficiency.

Salary Overview

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position.
