Job summary

DHL Express in East Windsor Township, New Jersey is hiring a PT Driver to pick up and deliver time sensitive documents and packages in a timely and efficient manner. You will drive to customer sites, lift, load, and operate a scanner to record shipping information, while following safety procedures and company guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Drive to customer sites under tight deadlines and deliver documents/packages in all weather.
• Picks up, handles and delivers time sensitive materials safely and punctually.
• Ensures delivery material is delivered to correct consignee.
• Operates a scanner to record shipping and package information.
• Maintain good work habits and adhere to safety procedures.
• Report any security breaches to supervisor immediately.
• Assist supervisor in orienting and checking lower level couriers.
• Assist supervisor in check rides to review performance and routes.

We are currentlyhiring aPT Driver. As aPT Driveryou would follow standard company procedures and safety requirements to pick up and deliver time sensitive materials ina timelyand efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Under tight deadlines, drives vehicle to customer sites, climbs in and out of vehicle, and walks up and down stairs asrequiredto pick up and deliver documents and packages to and from customers according to established procedures, in all weather conditions
• Picks up, handles and delivers time sensitive documents and packages in a safe and punctual manner considering traffic patterns, alternative routes, traffic regulations, and driving conditionsin order to meet customer and DHL time requirements
• Ensures all delivery material received is safely delivered to correct consignee
• Operates a scanner to record shipping and package information for documents/packages picked up or delivered
• Maintainsgood workhabits, including reporting to work on time and adhering to standard work and safety procedures
• Reports any suspected breach of security or unusual happenings to supervisorimmediately
• Mayassistsupervisor in orienting, training,assigningand checking the work oflower levelcourier
• Mayassistsupervisor in performing check rides to review performance and the proper use of routes and practices

Skills & Qualifications:

• Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets Driving Privileges standards
• Must be 21+ years old
• Excellent customer service skills
• Map reading skills and knowledge of delivery area preferred
• Previousprofessional driving experience, preferably in a delivery role
• Candidate must pass pre-employment background,drugand medical physical screening

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able tolift upto seventy (70)lbsoccasionally
• Must be able to lift forty (40)lbsfrequently
• Must be able to walk, climb stairs, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch repeatedly
