Job description

Position Overview

Foothill-De Anza Community College District is establishing a pool of qualified applicants for a part‑time faculty position as a Dental Assisting Instructor. Applications will be accepted continuously until otherwise noted.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform instructional, counseling, or librarian duties as assigned; evaluate and assess student work; submit grades promptly.
• Participate in performance assessments, including administrative and student evaluations.
• Engage in campus and staff development activities and contribute to the larger College or District community.
• Teach didactic and clinical courses in four‑handed chair‑side technique, orthodontic procedures, dental materials, dental health education, dental sciences, dental radiography and related courses.
• May receive additional pay for office hours, additional assignments, and professional development events.

1. Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
2. Vision sufficient to read various materials.
3. Dexterity of hands and fingers to perform job tasks.
4. Regularly stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

6. Reach overhead, above shoulders, and horizontally.
7. Lifting and carrying objects up to 20 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Understanding, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio‑economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disabilities, and sexual orientations of community college students, faculty, and staff.
2. Minimum qualifications as defined in the Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges (available at http://extranet.cccco.edu/Portals/1/AA/MinQuals/MinimumQualificationsHandbook2012_2014.pdf).

Additional Requirements

Official transcripts verifying qualifications are required before an offer of employment. International transcripts must be evaluated by an independent educational‑equivalency evaluation company and translated into English if necessary. All parties are responsible for these costs.
