The Glen Ellyn Park District seeks a Dance Instructor to teach a range of dance programs for ages 2.5 and up, under supervision of the Cultural Arts leadership. Responsibilities include planning, warmups, technique, and choreography, with emphasis on safety and inclusive instruction.
Ideal candidates have passion for dance, strong leadership and communication skills, and prior dance/instruction experience. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus and may be provided if needed.

Under the supervision of the Manager of Cultural Arts, Camps and Seniors, and the direction of the Cultural Arts Coordinator, the Dance Instructor is responsible for teaching a variety of dance programs and classes depending on the strength and knowledge of the instructor. Classes may include Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Tap, etc. for ages 2.5 years and older with varying skill levels. The Dance Instructor is responsible for general classroom management, planning, and instruction including dance terminology, warmups and basic stretching, dance technique, and choreography of dances.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for dance, be self-motivated and have an outgoing energetic personality. Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with participants and their parents, staff, and the public are essential. Previous dance and/or instructing experience is required.
Monday and Wednesday afternoon availability from 4pm-8pm. Schedule will depend on availability and need.
