Job summary

New Jersey Association on Correction Inc. is seeking a dependable food service worker to assist in planning, ordering, storing, preparing and serving meals for residents. You will maintain inventory and ensure hygienic food handling under supervision.

Responsibilities include menu planning, weekly orders for purchases, and timely meal preparation according to a schedule. Prior ServSafe certification and experience in corrections are a plus; reliability and teamwork are essential.

• Commitment to Association philosophy.
• Able to plan, prepare and serve a variety of meals in a hygienic and economical manner.
• Able to interact informally with residents and clients in a positive manner.
• Able to work with volunteers.
• Dependable and mature; prior knowledge of corrections is a plus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve under the supervision of the Program Supervisor/Manager or her/his designee to carry out assigned relating to the planning, ordering, storing, preparing and serving of food.
• Keeps a running inventory of all food.
• Plan menus one week in advance.
• Prepare a weekly food order for review and use to purchase food based on the weekly menu.
• Maintain kitchen, clean utensils and food storage areas, maintain food in a safe and hygienic manner.
• Prepare and serve adequate, timely and nutritionally sound meals according to an assigned schedule.C

COMPENSATION

• $16 perhour @24 hours
• 401k
• Earned Sick Time
