Job description

Position Summary

Provides supervision to students in the Counseling and Human Services program who are participating in clinical practicums at community agencies.

Job Duties

• Visits weekly with each supervised student at the students’ practicum site to discuss clinical, professional, and personal issues relevant to the students’ performance.
• Interacts regularly with the students’ supervisor at the agency to discuss the students’ performance.
• Plays a critical role in maintaining a professional collaboration between the Counseling and Human Services program and practicum sites.
• Provides feedback to the Counseling and Human Services practicum coordinator and program manager about each student’s performance.

Required Qualifications

• AS degree in Counseling and Human Services from a regionally accredited educational institution or a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Three years of prior related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to communicate adeptly both orally and in writing.
• Ability to mentor students during their practicum experience.
• Ability to interact cooperatively with personnel at agencies that provide practicum opportunities for Counseling and Human Services students.
• Work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
