Job summary

Medford Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Massachusetts is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. You will provide PT treatments under the supervision of a licensed PT, with emphasis on geriatric care and resident well-being.

The position requires an MA license, an Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy, and strong communication skills to collaborate with residents, families, and staff. Prior geriatric experience is preferred and on-site supervision is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a current unencumbered MA license as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Graduate of an accredited school with an Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy.
• Geriatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides Physical Therapy plan of treatments and modalities under the on-site supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Must effectively communicate with residents with visual, speech, auditory, cognitive, physical and emotional impairments.
• Must possess the ability to train/supervise and discipline subordinate staff.
• Must be able to relate information regarding a resident’s condition.
• Documents resident progress toward Physical Therapy goals.
• Completes Daily Activity Schedule and progress notes per facility policy and as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provides resident, staff and family education as directed.
