Job summary

Campbell Street in Norwalk, IA, seeks an Activities Assistant to support the daily resident activity program and enhance the overall resident experience through scheduled monthly activities.

You will assist in coordinating activities, communicating with families, and maintaining documentation, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. A one-year LTC/AL experience helps you hit the ground running.

Qualifications

• At least one year of long-term care or assisted living experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to produce stimulating programs.
• Strong communication & computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate stimulating activities programming.
• Create a strong & active volunteer program.
• Communicate regularly with resident families and entire care team.
• Prepare and review monthly newsletter & activities calendar.
• Lead group activities.
• Report and document resident’s progress.
• Visits with residents on a one-to-one basis as directed.
• Evaluate and reassess activity interventions based on interdisciplinary plan of care and revise as needed.
• Ensure documentation meets regulatory standards.
• Reports to the Activities Director on residents’ responses and progress to specific approaches.
• Effectively manage the care of assigned residents.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
