Healing through the Heart Center® in Colts Neck, NJ invites licensed therapists with at least 1 year of independent practice to deepen trauma work including EMDR and integrative approaches. The role blends private practice autonomy with strong team support and administrative systems.
The position emphasizes client-centered, trauma-informed care with a primarily in-person schedule and some virtual sessions, offering robust clinical growth and a supportive community.
Experienced Therapist? Deepen Your Work in Trauma & EMDR.
Healing through the Heart Center® is a heart centered group practice rooted in authenticity, relational healing, and evidence based care.
We are looking for a licensed therapist with at least 1 year of independent clinical experience who is ready to deepen their work with trauma, attachment, EMDR, and integrative approaches.
This is not a high volume agency environment. You will have the autonomy of private practice with the support of a connected clinical team, established systems, administrative support, and a steady flow of pre screened clients.
If you have already developed your identity as a clinician and are looking for a practice where you can grow your expertise, do meaningful work, and be supported without being micromanaged, this may be the right fit for you.
Depending on your current training, we provide:
Our goal is not simply to teach you another modality. We want to help experienced clinicians deepen and expand the clinical skills they already have, integrating trauma informed, relational, somatic, mindfulness, DBT, and EMDR approaches into their work.
At Healing through the Heart Center®, clinicians have a high level of autonomy while remaining part of a connected and collaborative clinical community.
Many therapists transitioning from agency, hospital, or highly structured environments appreciate having the freedom of private practice without having to manage the business side of private practice alone.
We provide the systems, administrative support, billing infrastructure, clinical consultation, and team connection that allow you to focus your energy where it belongs: your clients and your clinical work.
To maintain strong clinical support and team connection, we provide:
We are intentional about balancing flexibility with meaningful support. You will have autonomy in structuring your week while remaining an active part of a collaborative clinical community.
We maintain a waitlist of clients who are carefully screened to support strong clinical fit and minimize therapist burnout.
Clinicians joining the practice receive support transitioning into the practice and building a sustainable caseload.
Supervision and consultation are provided by Jill Portaro, LCSW, an EMDR Certified Therapist, EMDRIA Certified Consultant, and Faculty in Training with The Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy. Jill is also DBT Intensively Trained through Behavioral Tech and a Meditation and Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance.
We are a team of clinicians who value authenticity, integrity, warmth, collaboration, and meaningful clinical work.
We believe clinicians do their best work when they feel supported, trusted, and empowered to develop their own authentic clinical style.
You will not be responsible for the business side of running a private practice.
We provide:
Our goal is to remove unnecessary administrative burden so you can focus on providing exceptional care.
Compensation starts at $55 per clinical session, with opportunities for increased compensation based on experience, advanced training, and contribution to the practice.
Enjoy the autonomy of private practice while having the stability and structure of W2 employment.
This is a primarily in person role based in Colts Neck, NJ, with some flexibility for virtual sessions based on client needs and practice guidelines.
Applicants must be available to work the required number of consistent shifts for their selected position.
Shift assignments will be based on practice needs and candidate availability. Consistency in maintaining a regular weekly schedule is important to support continuity of care for clients.
We understand that transitioning into a new practice takes time.
Clinicians joining the practice will receive a thoughtfully matched caseload of pre screened clients and support throughout the transition.
Our existing waitlist helps facilitate a steady flow of referrals while allowing clinicians to build their caseload at a sustainable pace.
The goal is to help you establish a full, balanced, and sustainable caseload, rather than simply fill your calendar.
Clinicians with 2+ years of individual therapy experience and those with established experience or advanced training in trauma are especially encouraged to apply.
We believe therapy should be both clinically effective and deeply human.
Our clinicians are encouraged to bring their authentic selves into their work while continuing to develop their expertise.
We integrate approaches including EMDR, DBT, mindfulness, somatic therapy, meditation, and relational approaches to help clients create meaningful and lasting change.
You will have the freedom to develop your own clinical style while being part of a team that values connection, clinical excellence, integrity, and heart.
You already know how to be a therapist. We provide the support, systems, community, and opportunities for growth that allow you to focus on becoming an even stronger one.
If you’re ready to deepen your clinical work and join a practice that values both autonomy and connection, we’d love to hear from you.
