Psychometrist

Schedule; Part-time/20 Hours Per Week

Location: Suburban Outpatient Pavilion

POSITION SUMMARY: Administers and scores psychological and neuropsychological tests upon requests of, and under supervision of, staff psychologists.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Administers and scores psychological and neuropsychological tests, and summarizes test data.
  • Works in collaboration with psychologists in the treatment and care management of patients. Collects appropriate information regarding patient social history, presenting complaints and symptoms, pertinent interval changes, when appropriate
  • Communicates results of psychological and neuropsychological testing of patients. Communicates results of psychological and neuropsychological testing of outpatients within eight working days of the test administration.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge and skills necessary to properly administer and score existing and new psychological and neuropsychological tests.
  • Trains and supervises master’s level practicum students, predoctoral and postdoctoral residents in the administration of neuropsychological and psychological test batteries to ensure proper standardization, acceptable sequencing an accurate scoring.
  • Assumes responsibility for organizing and overseeing the functions and procedures of the neuropsychological assessment lab. Maintains knowledge of new instruments and procedures, managing inventory, utilization of software including assisting with technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Consistently and accurately documents all contacts with patients in the medical record.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

  • Coordinates and performs quality assurance and improvement studies, monitoring performance indicators and submitting reports to assigned committees overseeing the testing lab.
  • Presents case material and procedural issues, contributing to discussions pertaining to patient care and departmental operations in Department meetings as indicated.
  • Participates in professional organizations and educational endeavors to enhance and maintain professionalism and quality service within the scope of the above responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in Psychology or related field.
  • On-half (1/2) year of experience in test procedures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One (1) to two (2) years of human services work.
  • Master’s degree
