Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Psychometrist to administer and score neuropsychological and psychological assessments in support of cognitive and emotional health evaluation. You will work under supervision to collect data, interpret results, and contribute to diagnosis and readiness decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a formal program in Psychology, Sociology, or in a behavioral science related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience during the preceding three (3) years in the performance of psychological and/or neuropsychological testing and test scoring.
  • Certification by the Board of Certified Psychometrists (BCP) or shall obtain the certification within one (1) year of hire.
  • The BCP may be waived if the contractor’s one (1) year of full-time experience was under the supervision of an Operational Psychologist.
  • Psychometrists are not credentialed providers and work under the supervision of mental health providers or personnel designated by POTFF leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned assessment procedures under the direct supervision of a credentialed privileged psychologist, operational psychologist, or neuropsychologist.
  • Utilize therapeutic assessment and interview skills to elicit accurate and concise account of the client's condition.
  • Screen clients to determine presenting problems and priority of appointment.
  • Perform basic assessment procedures, including initial screening evaluation and standardized neuropsychological, intelligence, and personality testing.
  • Conduct Assessment and Selection in large group settings as well as on an individual basis.
  • Employ appropriate research methodology and statistical design to answer Commander’s requests for information.
  • Assist credentialed providers with identifying mental health diagnosis and treatment strategies, as well as providing client education.
  • Understand suitability requirements for the different units across the SOCOM enterprise.
  • Assist in providing specialized treatment and rehabilitation of brain injured and mental health clients.
  • Observe, monitor, report, and record client interaction during assessment sessions.
  • Institute precautionary measures to prevent client injuries due to suicide, homicide, or elopement.
  • Coordinate with other military agencies and MTFs regarding specialized care, treatment, and administrative functions.
  • Contact military or community agencies to obtain collateral information.
  • Explain and interpret neuropsychological and psychological services and procedures to access care to clients and commands.
  • Assist in or arrange for client referral to other facilities for alternate level of care.

The Psychometrist administers and scores neuropsychological and psychological assessments to support cognitive, behavioral, and emotional health evaluation. Working under the supervision of licensed psychologists or neuropsychologists, the Psychometrist collects and interprets data necessary for diagnosis, treatment planning, readiness decisions, and performance optimization. This role supports Assessment & Selection events, clinical services, research activities, and cognitive rehabilitation efforts within the Human Performance program.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
