Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Main Campus seeks a Psychometrist to administer and score cognitive and psychological assessments for patients with neurological concerns. You will work closely with providers to support accurate diagnoses and treatment planning in a structured, collaborative setting.

This full-time, on-site role offers shift options 7:30am–4:00pm or 8:00am–4:30pm, with no weekends or holidays, creating meaningful patient interactions within a dedicated neuropsychology team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field; educational training to understand clinical terminology.
  • Experience with neuropsychological tests and measurement concepts is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, score and report results of neuropsychological tests across age groups.
  • Record responses, times and scores; write behavioral observations.
  • Monitor cognitive deficits and tailor testing approach to patient needs.
  • Maintain test battery records and assist other Psychometrists as needed.

The Psychometrist role is a highly specialized position within neuropsychology that plays an integral part in the evaluation and care of patients with neurological and cognitive concerns. In this role, you will administer and score cognitive and psychological assessments while working closely with providers to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. This position is detail-oriented, patient-facing, and clinically focused, offering the opportunity to build meaningful patient interactions while contributing to a structured and collaborative care environment.

A caregiver in this position works full-time| days| 7:30am—4:00pm or 8:00am—4:30pm| no weekends or holidays| on site 5 days.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Administer, score and report results of many age-appropriate neuropsychological tests on patients with a wide range of known or suspected neurological conditions.
  • Accurately record responses, times and scores and write detailed behavioral observations concerning patient performance during testing.
  • Remain alert of cognitive deficits demonstrated by each patient.
  • Encourage the patient to always give their best performance on a given test.
  • Remain sensitive, alert and resourceful during testing to tailor the approach to patient needs (especially when working with patients who have severe impairments or behavioral issues)
  • Maintain record keeping and data retrieval systems associated with test batteries.
  • Assist other Psychometrists as necessary
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or a related field
  • Educational training sufficient to understand neuropsychology clinical terminology
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Experience with neuropsychological behavioral assessments and test batteries
  • Course work in psychological tests and measurement
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination.
  • Requires frequent standing and walking
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • May require moving patients in wheelchairs over short distances.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $17.25

Maximum hourly: $26.31
