About the Position

The ideal candidate will demonstrate cultural competency in servingdiverse community college student populations, including those withdiffering abilities, AB 540 students, DACA recipients, ForeignResidents, VACA participants, Dual Enrollment, and ContinuingEducation students. They will support RSCCD's mission to promoteself-awareness, knowledge, and communication skills, enablingstudents to participate creatively and confidently in anever-changing world.

Program Description

The Health and Wellness Center is committed to supporting studentsuccess by recognizing that overall wellness is integral toacademic achievement. The Center provides comprehensive physicaland mental health services to the college community in aconfidential setting, with sensitivity to individual needs. Services include high-quality clinical care, innovative health andwellness programs, and referrals to low-cost providers in thesurrounding area, all delivered in a caring, cost-effective, andconvenient manner.

Currently enrolled full-time and part-time SAC and SCE students areeligible for services, most of which are offered at no cost. Anominal fee may apply for certain laboratory tests, prescribedmedications, and select medical procedures. Psychological Servicesinclude short-term brief therapy, crisis intervention, prevention,wellness programming, and referrals to community resources whenlonger-term or specialized care is indicated. Students may beeligible for up to 10 sessions per academic year, depending onclinical need. Services are available in person and viaHIPAA-compliant TeleHealth (Zoom) to increase accessibility, reducebarriers, and minimize stigma.

General Responsibilities

Provide consultation, support, crisis intervention, and briefpsychological counseling to students whose mental or emotionalconcerns interfere with success in college. Provide outreachservices to the campus community. Provide referral services tostudents in need of psychological resources beyond those providedon campus. Consult with faculty, staff, administrators, andinterdisciplinary teams regarding student mental health andwellness concerns. Provide supervision and training to psychologyinterns. Strictly adhere to the ethical principles of psychologistsas outlined by the American Psychological Association, and complywith California laws and regulations governing the practice ofpsychology. Perform other duties and assume responsibilities asassigned by the immediate supervisor.
