  • Consult with other clinicians on psychological aspects of health and hospitalization.
  • Participate in rounds, didactics, and team meetings.
  • Supervise practicum students, interns, and postdoctoral residents.
  • Engage in clinical research and trainee education opportunities.
  • Contribute to program development within the clinical service.

Position Title:Psychologist - Bariatric Surgery ClinicDepartment:Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences ClinicJob Description:The licensed psychologist (or license-eligible psychologist) in the State of Oklahoma will provide care as part of our growing healthcare system and will be an essential part of the interdisciplinary team at OU Health by providing assessment, treatment, and consultation for individuals with behavioral health needs that may be associated with their health conditions.Essential ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.Provide high-quality behavioral health services to patients with a variety of psychological and medical conditions within the OU Health systemProvide consultation to other healthcare professionals regarding the psychological aspects of a patient’s mental health condition, medical condition, or hospitalization.Attend and collaborate with other healthcare professionals in team rounds, didactics, and meetingsProvide supervision to psychology practicum students, interns, and post-doctoral residentsMay participate in a variety of academic opportunities, including clinical research and education of trainees in psychology and other medical disciplinesMay participate in program development opportunities based on the specific needs of the clinical service.General ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsEducation RequirementsDoctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.): Psychology (Required).Experience RequirementsCompletion of a predoctoral, APA-accredited internship required.Specialized training in psychology, including a postdoctoral residency/fellowship required.Psychologists employed at a Children's facility must have demonstrated experience working with Adolescents and Youth.0 - 3 years’ experience, including postdoctoral training, required.License/Certification/Registration RequirementsLicensed as a psychologist in the State of Oklahoma required.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities RequirementsBe eligible for faculty appointment at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.Have knowledge of evidence-based psychological assessment, intervention, and consultation.Have an interest in training/supervision of trainees in psychology and other disciplines.Have experience in research, program development, and/or quality improvement.Current OU Health Employees - Please click HERE to login.OU Health is an equal opportunity employer.
