Job summary

Seven Counties Services seeks a licensed psychologist to provide assessment, testing, therapy, and crisis interventions for adults with complex mental health needs. You will develop treatment plans, monitor progress, and assist with discharge planning within a multidisciplinary team.

Licensure by the Kentucky Board is required, with current pursuit of licensure if in process. Training and mentorship opportunities are available for new psychologists as described.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology.
• Licensed by the Kentucky Board of Psychology.
• Must be in process of pursuing licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provides treatment to adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring conditions.
• Develops risk assessments, psychological testing, and behavioral plans.
• Provides individual and group therapies and crisis interventions.
• Completes initial assessments, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
• Participates in a multidisciplinary team and may supervise practicum students.
• Testifies for involuntary commitment hearings when needed.

Job Description

Central State Hospital is seeking a Psychologist Provides treatment to adults with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance, developmental, and behavioral health needs. Develops and/or completes any warranted risk assessments and psychological testing, behavioral plans, and/or individual and group therapies. Assists in crisis interventions. Completes initial assessments, develops individualized treatment plans, monitors patient progress, and assists with discharge planning. Participates in a multidisciplinary treatment team to assess diagnosis, danger, benefit, and least restrictive level of care. Provides supervision to practicum students and interns, if appropriately credentialed. Testifies for involuntary commitment hearings as needed (Note: New psychologists receive training, mentorship, and opportunities to observe before independently testifying). Conduct competency evaluations and occasional criminal responsibility evaluations. Testify when subpoenaed. (Note: Training can also be provided for these tasks).

Preferred Credentials

Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology. Licensed by the Kentucky Board of Psychology. Must be in process of pursuing licensure.
